Sex Abuse Treatment Center visits campus

True or False: Sexual assault means the same thing as rape?
The answer is false. According to the Sex Abuse Treatment Center, sexual assault is any forced, tricked, or coerced sexual activity and is a form of sexual violence. Other forms of sexual violence may include verbal harassment, exposure, molestation, and penetration (rape). [More]

Jihad does not translate to holy war

An eclectic group of 60 students and professors gathered Oct. 27 at the Sea Warrior Center in the Blaisdell Hotel to hear Dr. Muhammad Abdullah discuss the controversial and media-abused word jihad. They also learned a lot about the Muslim religion and Islam culture. [More]

Book Beat - Papers, speeches, presentations - oh my god!

As the fall semester gets underway, most HPU students will be relying on the library to fill their research needs. To help make your library experiences positive and constructive, here’s some helpful information:

Library Hours
Meader Library - Second floor of 1060 Bishop Street
Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m.- 8:30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m .- 5 p.m.
Sunday: Noon - 8:30 p.m.
Atherton Library - Third floor of the Cooke Academic Center (Hawai‘i Loa campus)
Monday-Thursday: 8 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sunday: Closed
Thanksgiving: the libraries will be closed Nov. 24-25

If you need information while the library is closed, or you cannot come to campus, go to HPU Pipeline and click on the Libraries tab. There you will find links to databases and other electronic resources.
