Sea Warrior runner earns title as top female finisher at 22nd annual Great Aloha Run

Marie-Louise Brasen, a senior member of HPU’s cross country team, was the first female to finish the 22nd Annual Great Aloha Run held on Feb. 20. Brasen finished the 8.15-mile race that started at Aloha Tower and finished at Aloha Stadium in 51:09, over a minute faster than the nearest female competitor.

'Aki' gives HPU White flying season start

Akihide “Aki” Adachi, one of HPU’s veteran players, dominated the Feb. 6 game against Aloha Amazon. Aki, who was last season’s second leading scorer, scored four of HPU’s five goals agains the Amazons—all in the second half. “I got substituted in the first half, which I didn’t like, so when I entered in the second half I was very hungry,” Aki said after the game. “Now I’m really happy,” He added. The 2005 Men’s Island Soccer Organization (MISO) champions, HPU White men’s soccer team, has had a flying start to the 2006 season, beating Latin Hawai‘i 4-3 Jan. 29 and trouncing Aloha Amazon 5-1 Feb. 6. The team’s third consecutive win came Feb. 12 over the Dawgs by 4-2. [More]
