The event was slow to start as the doors opened at 10 a.m., but things got busy quickly, climaxing over the lunch hour and slowly quieting down from 1 p.m. until the fair closed at 2 p.m.

The fair was open to all HPU students and alumni interested in business and technology fields. This includes areas in the police department, as both the Honolulu and Maui police departments were present, along with hotels recruiting for open positions. Students were able to meet and discuss possible full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities with the employers

HPU’s Career Services Center Director, Lianne Maeda, who organized the event, posted a message on Pipeline recommending that all who attended dress professionally and bring a supply of updated resumes to distribute to potential employers.

John Schapperle, president of Island Insurance Company presented an information session on “Internship Opportunities in Hawai‘i’s Property and Casualty Insurance Industry.”
