best and brightest with awards, scholarships, cash, and
approbation at the annual Spring Honors Banquet, held regularly,
in recent years, at the Waikiki Prince. The event, on March

Kalamalama
wins Best School Newspaper award
Kalamalama took state-wide first-place honors
for the third consecutive year in the school newspaper category
at the Hawai‘i Publisher’s Association Pa‘i
Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom
on March 30. The award honors the best newspaper that serves
a Hawai‘i school. The judging criteria included quality
and completeness of editorial coverage, design, layout, photography,
and relevance to the school that the newspaper serves. [More] |

Editor Brittany Yap with Kalamalama’s Pa‘i Award for Best School
Newspaper in Hawai‘i. Earlier in March, Galdeira and Yap
