All island University students were invited, regardless of age, to this ASHPU-sponsored attempt “To promote camaraderie among island University students and alleviate Hawai‘i’s housing crunch,” said University Relations Specialist Jessica McDunn.

Proceeds from all ticket sales will go to Habitat for Humanity, and to raise additional funds for the local homeless shelter provider. The concert featured a raffle with prizes from local companies such as Sea Life Park and California Pizza Kitchen, McDunn said.

Three bands performed: National Product, The Appearance, and Cauterize. Advance tickets for the event, available on Fort Street Mall and at the Hawai‘i Loa campus lanai were $5. Tickets cost increased to $10 the week before the show and were $15 at the door.

HPU provided buses departing at 6 p.m. from the Hawai‘i Loa campus and student housing and returning at midnight.
