by Jeff Harada, assistant Athletics director

Wells, who compiled a 9-18 record in his first season at HPU, returns to his home state, where he guided Mason County High School to the state championship, while being named the National Federation High School Coach of Year in 2003. He was also named the Kentucky High School Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004.

“ I would like to thank President Wright and Athletics Director Jill Ward for the opportunity and their support here at Hawai‘i Pacific,” said Wells. “The associations I have made and time I have spent here will truly be memorable for years to come.”

Along with his duties as head coach, Wells also served as an assistant athletics director.

“ We would like to thank Coach Wells for his hard work on and off the court, and for his contributions to the University, the student-athletes, and the athletics department,” said Athletics Director Jill Ward. “He leaves here as a treasured colleague and friend, and we wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors.”
