.About Us

Aloha from President Wright
with Chatt G. Wright

You have probably noted that a unique characteristic of the University is our diverse student body, a learning community of students from throughout the United States and the world. HPU prides itself on providing our multiethnic, multicultural student body an education rich not only in the specializations of our academic majors, but in a set of values that focuses on global citizenship.

You will have many opportunities to encounter and explore the meaning of global citizenship during your time with us, and I want to mention one special way in which this concept can be a vital part of your education at HPU. Via the Student Exchange Program partnerships with universities overseas, HPU provides students with opportunities to spend a semester abroad taking classes earning credits applicable to your HPU degree.

This semester we have students studying in Australia, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Sweden, France, and other countries in which they take courses mostly in English. In return, we have incoming exchange students from these same countries spending a reciprocal exchange semester at HPU. Our exchange students pay tuition at HPU and receive tuition waivers at the host universities; financial aid and HPU scholarships can also be used by exchange students going abroad.

HPU exchange students complement their HPU studies by living in another culture, experiencing different educational systems, and acquiring knowledge to not only enhance their academic careers but help make them global citizens through immersion in cultures and values different from their own.
If you would like to find out about studying abroad as an HPU exchange student, visit the Student Exchange Program table at Club Carnival, to be held on Fort Street Mall, on Friday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can meet returned HPU exchange students, students from our exchange partners, and receive details about specific schools and course offerings.

Best wishes for a great semester at HPU!
