Hyuliya Nurhanova Hasanova and Mickey N. Kromann-Jensen are both travel industry management majors in HPU’s College of Business Administration.

The CMAA Scholarship is awarded to students majoring in travel industry management who have good character, a high GPA, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Hasanova, a senior from Bulgaria, is working as an intern at the Kahala Hotel and Resort and is a member of several HPU organizations, including TIMSO.

“Receiving the CMAA scholarship,” said Hasanova, “keeps me motivated to continue to strive for academic excellence.”

“I am planning to pursue a career in Hawai‘i’s travel industry,” said Kromann-Jensen. “I just love this place, and really enjoy my time at HPU.”

In addition to holding a 4.0 GPA, Kromann-Jensen, a senior from Svendborg, Denmark, is a member of the TIM Student Organization (TIMSO) and is serving as the new president of Danish Dynamite, the University Danish student organization. He is currently interning with Hospitality Advisors LLC, a tourism and travel consultancy.

The Club Managers Association of American is the professional association for managers of membership clubs. CMAA has more than 6,000 members who manage more than 3,000 country, city, athletic facility, yacht, town, and military clubs.
