Symposium clarifies global citizenship

New nonsmoking laws to affect students

Nonsmoking laws will be even tougher Nov. 16 when a new statewide law will prohibit smoking not only in enclosed areas but also outdoors, within 20 feet of entrances, exits, and open windows of all public and commercial buildings. HPU will be posting signs around the campus to help students be mindful of the new law. [More]


The new nonsmoking law means smokers such as this student will not be able to smoke near Fort Street stores.

Founding Trustee to establish a Performing Arts Center at HPU

Philanthropists and performing arts enthusiasts Paul and Vi Loo recently made a generous donation to HPU to build a performing arts center on its windward Hawai‘i Loa campus. The Paul and Vi Loo Performing Arts Center, to be housed in a new student center, is part of the proposed development plan for the windward campus. [More]
