Aloha from President Wright
with Chatt G. Wright

The quality of MCP has been noted by a number of accrediting agencies whose primary role is to ensure that students are getting the education they’ll need to be successful after college. For many military students, that means success during and after a military career. I’m happy to report that HPU’s military programs have been commended for the quality of both our student affairs support and our academic programs.

HPU students and faculty have also recognized the efforts our faculty put into the classroom. Last May, the 2006 Trustees’ Award for Teaching Excellence was awarded to Military Campus Program full-time faculty member Dr. Dan Flood. Also, Mr. Lou Collazo received a Golden Apple Award from the Faculty Assembly in recognition of his excellent work as a part-time teacher in our program.
Here are just a few of the initiatives of our Military Campus Programs:

· HPU has now expanded its distance-learning offerings to nearly 100 online courses. Students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Masters in Organizational Change entirely online.

· HPU has established a National Testing Center at a number of our military campuses. This allows military students to take electronic exams for the College-Level Examination Program and find out their results immediately.

· HPU recently announced the Military Spouse Scholarship Program, making it possible for many more military spouses to pursue their educational goals.

· HPU has upgraded nearly all of the on-base classrooms we utilize, providing them with wired or wireless Internet connections to give faculty more options for teaching their courses and also to make it easier for students to do Internet research.
