Language prof-Hiroshima hibakusha

Imagine waking up one morning and going to class, not knowing a few hours later an atomic bomb would be dropped on your city. For most of us that will never be a reality, but for an HPU Japanese language instructor, Esther Fujioka, that was exactly what happened on August 6, 1945. [More]


The atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima killed an estimated 140,000 people and caused 70,000 immediate casualties. Survivors are known as hibakusha.
