The Center for Graduate and Adult
Services at HPU announced that effective Feb. 7 it would offer
extended hours every Wednesday.
“
The center will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for academic
advising,” said Norma Kop, an academic advisor at the adult
and graduate student service center on the 9th floor of the Finance
Factors (UB) building at 1164 Bishop St.
“
This is in addition to normal academic advising hours,” Kop
added, “which are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The goal of the extended hours, Kop explained, is to make more
advising hours available for adult undergraduate and graduate
students whose schedules cannot always be accommodated within
normal office hours.
Kop invites adult students to make an appointment at 543-8034
or just “Stop by the center for information about academic
tools such as Pipeline, a virtual communication tool that can
help students with course selection, scheduling, registration,
and more.
The center also offers information about placement exams, CLEP,
or the College-Level Examination Program, and other undergraduate-
and graduate-level services at HPU.
“
Need help selecting courses for your degree plan? Kop asked,
rhetorically. “Wondering how you can expedite your undergraduate
degree? Want to discuss your career options with an academic
advisor?
“
The center offers a full range of student services from enrollment
to graduation,” Kop said. “Staff includes experienced
academic advisors to assist you in defining your specific educational
goals and help you meet these goals.
“
Whether you’re a new or continuing student at HPU,” Kop
continued, we encourage you to take this opportunity to take
control of your degree plan and achieve your academic goals.”
