Alums advise on roads
to success
On March 14, HPU Career Services Center Director
Lianne Maeda hosted another Winding Road to Success meeting.

HPU graduates, Karina Umehara, originally from San Francisco,
Calif., and Jarnett Lono, from Hawai‘i, shared the
secrets of their success and the “winding road” they

HPU golf takes two second places, one first
HPU men’s golf team earned a second place
finish, 309-319, only 10 strokes behind first-place Brigham
Young University-Hawai‘i at the Tri-Match held at the
Turtle Bay Golf Course in Laie March 21. Chaminade University

Sustainability puts ‘student’ back
in Student Symposium
The week of April 14 to 21, HPU will celebrate
International Week 2007. This year’s Global Citizenship
Symposium activities will expand to include, in addition
to Friday’s Intercultural Day and Saturday’s
presentations and workshops, a focus on sustainability that
will comprise on-the-mall student exhibits Monday, a sustainability
workshop with a national expert Wednesday, and a student
exploration of campus sustainability on Saturday at the Hawai‘i
