Liz O’Brien has resigned as head coach of the Hawai‘i Pacific University women’s basketball team. The Lady Sea Warriors finished with an overall record of 2-25, with both wins coming in Pacific West Conference play. Coach O’Brien served as one of four head coaches to lead their programs in this statewide inaugural season of NCAA Division II women’s basketball.

The University will begin its search for a new head coach immediately.

Breaking news:
On April 6, Two members of the Hawai‘i Pacific University women’s basketball team were selected to the Pacific West All-Conference Team. Senior forward Constance DeCaires earned a second-team all-conference selection, and freshman forward Shannon Miyashiro received a spot on the Honorable Mention Team.

DeCaires of Kailua, Hawai‘i, appeared in 22 games, starting 11. She finished second on the team with 10.6 points per game, along with 4.8 rebounds per game. Miyashiro of Honolulu averaged 9.3 points per game and finished with 6.3 assists per game, second on the team in that category.

The Lady Sea Warriors finished their inaugural season of women’s basketball with an overall record of 2-25, 2-13 in the PacWest.
