· Sessions: Academic Expectations, Navigate through Financial Aid, Living with Roommates, Discover the University Scholars (Honors) Program, Computing and Online Education at HPU, Welcome! Insider’s Tips for International Students
· Receptions: Deans’ Welcome, First-Year Seminar Students, Commuter Students, Students interested in Exchange & Study Abroad
· Event: HPU Reads: 2007 Common Book Project Conversation
· The Main Attraction: New Student Orientation Kick-Off & Parents’ Reception This marks the beginning of the 2007-2008 academic year for new students. Join faculty and staff to celebrate new beginnings at the Kick-Off and Parents’ Reception on the beautiful windward Hawai‘i Loa campus! Students, parents, and family members are invited.

Wednesday, Aug. 29
· Sessions: Traverse through Transferring, Road to Success: Major Planning & Career Exploration, Mapping Out your Food & Housing Options, Tips on a Successful First-Year, Student Employment & Money Matters, Voyage through Campus Pipeline, Welcome! Insider’s Tips for International Students, Special Information Session Spoken in Japanese, Korean, and Chinese (Mandarin)
· Events: Resource Fair, Viewpoints Film Series Kick-Off
· Receptions: Transfer Students’ Social, Welcome Reception & Pizza Party: Center for English Language Programs
· Optional Activities: Haunted Hawaiian Nights (Bus Tour)

Thursday, Aug. 30
· Sessions: Living in Hawai‘i and Experiencing Culture Shock, Sailing through Student Life (ways to get involved)
· Optional Activities: Diamond Head Sunrise Adventure, Ali‘i Kai Catamaran Sunset Cruise

Friday, Aug. 31
· Optional Activities: New Student Day at HLC & Kailua Beach, Aloha Bash Dance (HLC)

Saturday, Sept. 1
· Optional Activities: Community Service Day at the Ulupo Heiau (Kailua), Polynesian Cultural Center (Laie, HI)

Sunday, Sept. 2
