TIM students volunteer at HHSMA fundraiser

Members of HPU’s Travel Industry Management Student Organization (TIMSO) took part in the Hawai‘i Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association’s (HHSMA) December fundraiser at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. The student volunteers helped register participants for the mini-golf tournament and assisted with the silent auction and other fun games and activities. [More]

Jim Nabors, receives Fellow of the Pacific Award

Hawai‘i Pacific University awarded its highest accolade, the Fellow of the Pacific Award, to famed entertainer and island resident Jim Nabors for his outstanding leadership, service, and dedication to the community. The award was presented at HPU’s 68th commencement ceremony on Wednesday, January 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Waikiki Shell. [More]

HPU Fulbrighters meet Mayor Hannemann

Mufi Hannemann, mayor of the City and County of Honolulu, met recently with a group of Fulbright Scholars in Hawai‘i, including several from HPU, to affirm his strong support for international educational exchange. Dr. Carlos Juárez, dean of the College of International Studies and professor of political science, helped to facilitate a meeting of Fulbright Scholars with the Mayor. Hanneman was a Fulbright Scholar himself at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand, and took office as Honolulu’s 12th mayor in January 2005. [More]
