The Oceanic Institute announced the hiring of a new Human Relations Generalist, Connie Kawamoto of Makiki, and the promotion ot Chisa Woodley of Kaimuki to controller.

In her new position, Kawamoto will handle all human resource administration including recruitment, selection, employee development, compensation, employee relations, HRIS, payroll and benefits administration.

Prior to joining OI, Kawamoto worked at The Salvation Army for more than 11 years, most recently as the head of their HR department. She earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and a fifth year teaching certificate, both from the University of Hawai‘i.

Woodley has been with OI since 2004 and was previously Senior Accounting Manager. In her new position, Woodley will oversee the accounting function for the organization, including preparation of the financial statements, development of internal controls, and management of the budget.
