TIM takes a field trip to the gourmet cutting edge

HPU Travel Industry Management students were “Good to Grill” on their Oct. 14 visit to the Safeway Kapahulu Shopping Center. Students in Dr. Susan Fox-Wolfgramm’s MGMT 4001D, Business Policy class visited several new gourmet, quick-service business ventures, including Caliente del Sol and Burgers on the Edge. Dealing with the dilemma of diet: HPU's Common Book Experience

HPU has 264 exchange and study abroad students from 15 countries, and about 3,000 international students. HPU, however, also offers the opportunity for HPU students to study abroad and have an exciting experience of learning in a new culture. Imagine being a student for example in Sweden, Mexico, Australia, Slovenia, Thailand, or Japan! You too can have the opportunity to study for a semester at one of the 40 universities in 16 different countries. The decision to study abroad was easy for me, but preparing for the semester was a lengthy process.

HPU's nursing program is still in high demand

Twenty stories above the busy streets of Ala Moana, Ellen Mae Valdez pushed aside her stacks of notes and nursing books. Her apartment is peaceful; the evening tradewinds brush past. Taste of Home presents Mid West

In an attempt to reconnect students with their home states, Megan Kaptik, the director of First-Year Programs, has planned a series of “Taste of Home” events. These events include food from the home states of the first-year students, and discussions about the food’s origins in order to give first-year students a chance to identify with other students, deal with possible homesickness, and share perspectives of the different regions of mainland.
