Chaplain's Corner
with Reverend Dale Burke

These are days of celebration and preparation for religious people around the world. Christians are preparing for Easter (April 12), which celebrates the most important event of their faiths, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Jews are preparing for the Passover (April 9), which commemorates the “deliverance from bondage” of the Israelites out of Egypt.
Many Muslims recently finished making the pilgrimage to Mecca known as the Hajj, which honors one of the Five Pillars of Islam and so brings them closer to Allah.
Making preparations is good for us. It points us to those things in life that are important and this gives us hope. Don’t forget to pause from the busyness of midterms and term papers to be mindful of the things that give your life hope: faith, families, friends, all reminders that we are cared about, loved, and valued. In nurturing these relationships, we find strength for the journey today.
Find hope and strength at our weekly nondenominational Chapel service every Wednesday, noon – 12:30 p.m. at Warmer auditorium. Come on down. The preparations have already been made!
